Best JDM importers: how ranking would work

This page will hold any future ranking of JDM importers. It holds none today, because the directory has no buyer ratings of its own to rank on. What follows is the method, published up front so it cannot be changed to suit a business later.

The principles a ranking would follow

1. Ratings would come from buyers on this site. Only reviews submitted here, and passed through moderation and spam checks, would count toward a ranking. No score would be imported from another platform.
2. No Google scores in a ranking. Google ratings, review counts and review themes are shown alongside a listing as context, but would never be used as a ranking input, and review text is never republished.
3. A published minimum. A business would have to reach a stated minimum number of moderated reviews before it could appear in a ranking, so a single review could not decide a position.
4. Aggregated over time. The method would state how recency and volume are weighted, so a burst of reviews could not quietly dominate a long record.
5. No paid placement. Advertisers and paying businesses would get no change in position. Any future advertising would be labelled and kept visually separate from a ranking.

Why the method is published before any ranking

Ranking pages are only useful if buyers can trust them. Publishing the method first means the rules are visible before any business has an incentive to influence them, and it lets you judge any future ranking on stated terms rather than on marketing copy.
